The CCFA has just released the figures for car sales in France for the month of August 2016. The market has grown by 6.7% overall compared to last year, ie 98,217 registrations. It is the Renault group that is performing the best because it is credited with an increase of 13.9%, of which + 6.6% under the Renault brand and + 38.4% under the Dacia brand. The PSA Peugeot Citroën group is mixed with -6.4% for Citroën, -20.1% under the DS brand and + 6.7% for Peugeot. On the foreign side, the Volkswagen group made -8% while BMW climbed 13.1% and Fiat by 24.3%! In total, over the first 8 months of 2016, blue-white-red brands grew by 5.8% (725,937 registrations), and foreign brands by 6.5%, with 607,699 registrations.
