Contreras’ double double high from right field wall in the seventh inning brought the Cubs 2-1 down. He also made the first run of the game with a long sacrificial flight into midfield in run five.

Roansy Contreras started for the Pirates and played three goalless innings on his Major League debut after being called up by Triple-A Indianapolis. The 21-year-old allowed three punches, walked one, and knocked out four.
