Everything we know so far

Rumors of an upcoming Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 live event are already making their rounds, even though the new season is barely a week ago. This is not uncommon given the hype surrounding the game, and with players always wanting something new, concepts soon turn into rumors and spread like wildfire.

However, unlike most cases, these new rumors about an event may be more true than mere speculation or conveniently edited concept art. While the intricate details are currently fuzzy and much is still based on assumptions, some things can be said with certainty.

iFireMonkey reveals the upcoming Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Live Event

Recently, the well-known Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey revealed a startling discovery that sent followers a frenzy. While not much was said, the information published was enough to get the crowd going.

According to the leaker, a brand new Fortnite event codenamed “Guava” is currently in development. It currently has seven phases and more could be added over time.

For comparison: “Operation Sky Fire” had five phases, while the last in-game concert, the Rift Tour with Ariana Grande, had a total of 15 phases. Given that the newest upcoming event has more phases than the newest, it can be grander.

A new event with the code name “Guava” is in progress

It is currently said to have 7 phases.

Unfortunately, iFireMonkey has not announced whether this will be a live event from Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 or an event for a later season. On the flip side, with Fortnitemares slated to launch soon, “Guava” could be the code name for an event that is rumored to be held in October to celebrate Halloween. However, the information should be treated with caution for the time being.

Speculation for that Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Live Event

While confirmed details are limited for the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 live event, some leaks suggest that an event similar to that of Fortnitemares from 2018 could reoccur.

It looks like all of the cubes go to the center of the map, the yellow path is for the gold one, the purple one for the purple cubes, BUT the purple paths are a bit off, but you get an idea of where they are going ! https://t.co/2HWY1zQkEo

As seen on the map above, all of the purple dice and the queen cube move in the direction of the aftermath. Once there, they will most likely roll in the water, corrupting it and possibly triggering another island-wide event.

Also, as shown in the trailer, the island can be covered with purple cubes. Oddly enough, data miners have found evidence that many more cubes will indeed appear on the island soon. Unfortunately, there is no information available on what these smaller cubes are for.

As of now, players will have to wait for more information to be released or hope that Epic Games will make a mistake and reveal some details such as the now-deleted animated comic “Burning Wolf”.
