Fortnite update 3.39 patch notes

Update 3.39 marks the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 3. A brand new chapter means tons of new gameplay mechanics and a brand new map. This is new in this update.

Welcome to the next chapter of Fortnite

The island from Chapter 2 has been turned upside down … literally. Step onto the new island and explore every corner of an undiscovered world in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1: Flipped!

Break the ice

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 is a new beginning – a perfect starting point for new players and a perfect return point for those who haven’t played in a while. Witness the wintry thaw on the new island, discover new locations and some surprises, grab victory crowns and complete new quests.

Spider Man

Slide, swing and withdraw

Run downhill? Try sliding to move quickly and avoid enemy fire – while still being able to shoot and build. Do you want to swing on the Daily Bugle and other buildings? From December 11th, you can use the Spider-Man web shooter. Did an enemy knock you unconscious? You can now crawl faster to reach your squad safely. You can now pick up things while you are unconscious!

Swing as Spidey

You can dress up Spider-Man’s web shooters regardless of your outfit, but you can also dress them up as the iconic web slinger yourself. Unlock outfits like Spider-Man, The Wanderer Ronin, The Outlaw Harlowe, and more with the Chapter 3 Season 1 Battle Pass. Later in Chapter 3, Season 1, unlock the leader of the legendary “Seven”: The Foundation. Speaking of Spider-Man, keep an eye out for new Spideys (plus a few friends and foes) that will appear in the item shop during the season!

XP beyond battle royale

Battle Royale isn’t the only place you can earn XP for your Battle Pass. You can also earn XP through awards in Creative! Creators can incorporate awards into their cards, games, or experiences for players who jump in. Play your favorite species to unlock Spidey, The Foundation, and more!

Snow and sea, desert and pasture

The new island is not just a new battlefield. It’s ripe for exploration too. Roam the western snowfield and ascend to a “Seven Outpost”. Cross the eastern tropics by motorboat. Get a taste of cozy living in Condo Canyon. And after most of the snow has thawed, cross the meadows and discover a secret that was previously snowed in.

Start a camp with your team

Have you found a pristine landscape that you don’t want to leave behind? Do you need a base while exploring the island? Throw down a tent to heal or stash items to collect in future games. A teammate can put together your own tent so the whole squad can have fun. When the storm hits your camp, pack your tents for a new campsite – or leave them if you don’t have time. You can still access your supplies in new tents!

Take the crown, defend the crown

Place high enough in Battle Royale and get a victory crown. You will start your next game with a crown – but bragging rights come with high stakes. The crown will shine in all its glory and set you apart from those who are looking for their own crown of victory. Hold on to your crown for Bonus XP as you play, and if you’re skillful enough to win while wearing the crown, you will receive an exclusive emote!

Fourteen days is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
