Pa. Debt firm receives deferred prosecution in corruption cases

By Ivan Moreno (Oct 13, 2021, 4:37 p.m. EDT) – A Pennsylvania debt collection company accused of bribing Illinois officials on contracts will not be prosecuted if it meets certain conditions over two years, federal officials said on Announced Tuesday while also said the company’s ex-CEO pleaded guilty in a separate deal.

An Illinois grand jury sued Harrisburg-based Penn Credit Corp. and their then CEO Donald Donagher in 2019, saying they paid for plaques and food in honor of Illinois judges during a Women’s History Month celebration in March 2014 – an event hosted by the secretary of Cook District Court County.
