Roy J. Miller

Spring Grove – Roy J. Miller, 97, of Spring Grove, passed away on Monday January 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Florence A. (Garrett) Miller, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage on April 4th.

Mr. Miller was born in Hellam Township on October 2, 1924, to the late Willis and Jennie (Seitz) Miller.

Roy was a farmer all his life and had worked as a roller tractor for PH Glatfelter Co. for 14 years. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Paradise (wooden sponge) and loved fishing, traveling, auctioning, and most importantly, spending time with his family.

Besides his wife Florence he leaves four daughters, Linda Kreiss, Joanne Shook (Michael) both from Thomasville, Shirley Clarke (Guy) from York and Melisa Bolinger from Spring Grove; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and five sisters. Roy preceded his wife Loretta (Gruver) Miller in death; a brother; and two sisters.

Public viewings will take place on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11 a.m. Rev. Sigrid Hipkiss will lead the service. All services take place at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock. The burial takes place in the Paradise Union Cemetery in Thomasville.
