Institute in partnership with the USC School of Cinematic Arts on Thursday, October 14th at 7:00 am
PM PST presents a free virtual screening of the award-winning documentary “Sallie Mae Not”

Advocate and series director Michael Camoin will host an online panel discussion. the

The $ 1.8 trillion debt that affects over 45 million Americans has become a question
economic, racial and social justice. Some activists advocate the granting of credit, while others
request basic consumer protection measures like bankruptcy and statute of limitations on loans
to be reinstated.

USC President Carol Folt will open the event with a message of welcome, followed by comments from
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), a leading voice on student loan issues
Forgiveness in Congress. The series sheds light on the history of the federal student loan that began
Mid-1960s and sheds light on how corruption set in. Can be seen throughout the series

Alan Collinge, USC alumni, author of The Student Loan Scam (Beacon Press) and founder
student loan equity in Sallie Mae Not;
Rabbi Jason Rosner, Rabbi of Temple Beth-Israel, Los Angeles, CA, and activist.
